Film Matters...

I have just finished running a course called Film Matters with a wonderful group of people at the Puzzle Tree in Okehampton (a day centre for adults with learning difficulties). We worked together every Tuesday morning for 15 weeks to create a series of little animations. Each person made their own film based on the theme of themselves and what they like. They drew up story boards, made all their backgrounds, characters and props, worked in pairs to animate each other's films, edited, added titles, wrote scripts and recorded voiceovers. It was a huge amount of fun and extremely rewarding. The equipment we used was pretty basic (Hue cameras and SAM animation) so the quality of the image is not fantastic, but the end results are lovely - charming, funny and at times rather poignant...
